DESCRIPTION:This film is a part of our Popcorn Flicks series\, which takes place in Central Park\, Winter Park once a month and it’s FREE and open to the public! \nGlen Campbell Tribute \nAfter hired hand Tom Chaney (Jeff Corey) murders the father of 14-year-old Mattie Ross (Kim Darby)\, she seeks vengeance and hires U.S. Marshal “Rooster” Cogburn (John Wayne)\, a man of “true grit\,” to track Chaney into Indian territory. As the two begin their pursuit\, a Texas Ranger\, La Boeuf (Glen Campbell)\, joins the manhunt in hopes of capturing Chaney for the murder of a Texas senator and collecting a substantial reward. The three clash on their quest of bringing to justice the same man.

DESCRIPTION:Iquitos is a town isolated in the middle of the jungle in Peru. One resident of the small town\, Fitzcarraldo\, as the natives call him\, dreams of bringing together Enrico Caruso and Sarah Bernhardt for one great celebration of Grand Opera. To finance this fantastic dream\, Fitzcarraldo decides to exploit a vast area of rubber trees growing beyond the impassable Ucayala Falls. To circumvent this barrier\, he literally has his huge steamboat lifted over a mountain from one branch of the river to the other. With the aid of a tribe of Indians bewitched by the voice of the greatest singer of all time\, Enrico Caruso\, Fitzcarraldo fights fever\, mosquitoes and suffocating heat to achieve the impossible.

Musical director Eric Clapton then leads a band featuring George’s son Dhani Harrison and fellow Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr in a broad selection of Harrison’s best-loved songs.

DESCRIPTION:Enzian has partnered with the Smithsonian Institute for a special screening of The Black Hole as a part of National Science on Screen Night! \nEvent Timeline:\n8:10 PM: Doors Open for the Theater\n8:30 PM: Guest Speaker Dr. Matthew Shindell begins presentation\n9PM: Film Begins \n \nDr. Matthew Shindell is a historian of science whose work focuses on the history of the earth and planetary sciences\, with an emphasis on the development of research programs in these fields during the Cold War. He curates the Museum’s collection of spacecraft\, instruments\, and other artifacts related to the exploration and study of the solar system. He will give a presentation prior to the screening of The Black Hole. \nThe Black Hole:\nIn the future\, a spaceship dubbed the USS Palomino is on its way back to Earth when it discovers another ship that had been assumed missing\, the USS Cygnus. Kate McCrae (Yvette Mimieux)\, a scientist aboard the Palomino\, learns that it’s the same ship upon which her father had served as a crew member. When the Palomino’s crew boards the Cygnus\, they are met by Dr. Reindhardt (Maximilian Schell) and a bizarre\, faceless army who plan to be the first people ever to explore a black hole.
