SUMMARY:The Rocketeer
DESCRIPTION:Cliff Secord (Bill Campbell) is a cocky stunt pilot in love with a beautiful actress\, Jenny Blake (Jennifer Connelly). When he discovers a jet pack hidden in a biplane\, Cliff straps on the rocket\, dons a flashy helmet and becomes the high-flying hero known as The Rocketeer. But when Nazis want to use the rocket as a weapon\, Cliff must use his alter ego to both protect Jenny from an evil actor (Timothy Dalton) and save the day in this period adventure based on the comic books by Dave Stevens. \nBefore the film\, there will be a presentation from Edward Eyth\, an Orlando-based creative director\, designer\, sculptor and visual arts educator. He has provided concept design and storyboards for major Hollywood films including “The Rocketeer\,” “Back to the Future\,” “Hook\,” “Arachnophobia\,” and “The Happytime Murders\,” a Jim Henson Company film scheduled for release this August. Eyth was hired to generate ideas for sets\, props and storyboards for the Disney film “the Rocketeer.” The first effort involved creating concept art to inform fabrication of a full size replica of the rocket pack depicted in Dave Stevens’ graphic novel “The Rocketeer\,” that the film was based on. The resulting rocketpack was true to Dave’s design\, but it fell short of looking like it could actually lift a grown man off the ground in a believable way. So dozens of iterations of rocketpack configurations were explored\, as the design evolved to a ‘twin rocket’ format and finally the Cirrus X-3 rocketpack featured in the film. Eyth will present some of his concept art and explain the pre-production process that brought this cult classic to the big screen.

After a brief brouhaha involving a precious vial and a wild ride down a raging Himalyan river\, Indy (Harrison Ford) gets down to the problem at hand: retrieving a precious gem and several kidnapped young boys on behalf of a remote East Indian village. His companions this time around include a dimbulbed\, easily frightened nightclub chanteuse (Kate Capshaw)\, and a feisty 12-year-old kid named Short Round (Quan Ke Huy).

DESCRIPTION:Featuring rare interviews and never-before-seen archival footage\, If I Leave Here Tomorrow takes viewers on a trip through the history\, myth and legend of the greatest American rock band ever! Rising from the swamps of the Deep South these good ol’ boys from Jacksonville\, FL came to define an era with their hard rocking boogie-woogie sound\, their drunken and dangerous antics\, and their controversial use of the rebel flag. The film also serves as a portrait of band leader Ronnie Van Zant; Simple Man\, Country Boy\, Whiskey Rock-a-Roller\, a poet and prophet for the common man whose life was cut tragically short\, but whose legacy endures to this day. \nThe film is primarily narrated by Gary Rossington\, the last of the Street Survivors\, founding member along with Ronnie Van Zant and Allen Collins\, who remains the only original member still in the band today. His recollections\, from the beginning to the very end\, mingle with the tales of drummer Artimus Pyle and “Sweet Home” co-writer Ed King\, interviews with the late drummer Bob Burns and “Honkette” JoJo Billingsley\, producer Al Kooper\, and recently discovered interviews with the late founding members Allen “Freebird” Collins and Leon “Mad Hatter” Wilkeson. And Lead Redneck\, singer & lyricist Ronnie Van Zant\, captured in radio interviews\, comes vividly to life through his own words and the stories and memories of the people who made music with him.
