DESCRIPTION:Dive into the magic of cinema with the Enzian Film Club! Join us for an enriching experience where film enthusiasts and novices alike can explore classic films in a new light. Each session features a short presentation by esteemed professors from local colleges\, followed by collaborative discussions that bring fresh insights and foster a deeper appreciation for the art of filmmaking. Part of our Saturday Matinee Classics series\, the Enzian Film Club is your gateway to understanding and enjoying timeless cinematic masterpieces in a vibrant\, community-focused setting. \n30th Anniversary Screening! \nFeaturing an Enzian Film Club discussion on “Editing” by Tim Ritter of the University of Central Florida. \nNominated for 8 Academy Awards (winner of Best Original Screenplay)\, 6 Golden Globes and winner of the Palm d’Or at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival\, Quentin Tarantino’s second film launched the director into the stratosphere of iconic cinematic filmmakers. \nJules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson) and Vincent Vega (John Travolta) are two hitmen out to retrieve a suitcase stolen from their employer\, mob boss Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames). Wallace has also asked Vincent to take his wife Mia (Uma Thurman) out a few days later when Wallace himself will be out of town. Butch Coolidge (Bruce Willis) is an aging boxer who is paid by Wallace to lose his next fight. Honey Bunny (Amanda Plummer) and Pumpkin (Tim Roth) are a couple of young lovers and small time thieves who decide they need a change of venue. The lives of these seemingly unrelated people are woven together in a wildly entertaining and exhilarating motion picture adventure that both thrills and amuses. \nAbout the speaker: Tim Ritter is an independent filmmaker based out of Orlando\, Florida\, and teaches directing and screenwriting as an assistant professor at the University of Central Florida. He recently completed his third feature film\, ECHOES.
