We appreciate your support! \nClick Here to Stream Dachra » \nCertified Fresh with 82% on Rotten Tomatoes! \nEver since she was discovered naked and near-dead decades ago\, Mongia has been institutionalized\, with a tendency to bite her nurses. \nGrisly\, frightening\, and stuffed with howling thrills\, the new Tunisian horror film DACHRA won over both Frightfest and the Venice Film Festival and is finally making its stateside debut. Equal parts Midsommar and The Blair Witch Project\, DACHRA begins with a simple classroom assignment and spins through double plot twists into high-tension cannibal sorcery. \nSent off with a documentary video assignment\, three journalism students decide to interview Mongia\, seeking new clues about the cold case. Intrigued and perturbed by the deranged woman’s story\, the trio take their camera to the scene of the crime deep in the woods\, led by the headstrong young investigator Yassmine (scream queen par excellence Yassmine Dimassi). \nSoon they are welcomed to a secluded\, hushed village where goats have free rein and raw meat hangs drying in the wind. Captured with a minimalist color palette in Hatem Nechi’s eerie and atmospheric compositions and uncanny long takes\, this foggy\, isolated hamlet is the creepiest location in recent horror cinema. Daring depths of barbarity—and some seriously scary children—are around every corner. \nWith superlative craft\, first-time director Abdelhamid Bouchnak weaves together North African folklore and the tried-and-true B-movie magic that made his debut a runaway hit in his home country. DACHRA maintains a high level of suspense and sophistication with its carefully calibrated narrative\, strong performances\, and its genre-expanding ethereal dread.

The recipient unexpectedly dies on the operating table\, forcing an organ transplant committee to convene with one hour to decide which of three other patients deserves the life-saving heart. God’s work is now left in the hands of five doctors: Boxer (Kelsey Grammer)\, a cynical but brilliant heart surgeon; Jordan (Julia Stiles)\, an idealistic up-and-comer; and Gilroy (Janeane Garofalo)\, a weary bureaucrat. As the debate over the heart heats up\, medicine\, money and morality clash. \nThe story moves to the present day. Boxer\, now heading a biotech startup\, is on the verge of developing a revolutionary technology that could solve the worldwide organ shortage. At the same time\, he can’t shake the memory of that winter morning seven years earlier. The fate of that one heart weighs heavily on him… because\, as Boxer begins to understand\, it is inextricably linked to his own fate.

Veiga Grétarsdóttir is the first person in the world to attempt to kayak the 1\,300 mile circumference of Iceland\, counter-clockwise and against the current\, an achievement that has been compared to climbing K2. Veiga’s personal journey is no less remarkable. She was born 44 years ago as a boy in a fishing village on the far west coast of Iceland. By the age of 38 Veigar had a wife and family but decided that she could no longer live as a man and decided to undergo gender reassignment. The inner struggle for Veigar to become Veiga was a journey as difficult if not more so than the solo kayak expedition she undertakes. These two stories of conflict and struggle are intertwined as the film follows her amazing 103 day journey around Iceland\, with the magical\, rugged coastline of the country a backdrop to the story of Veiga’s transition.

The story is an intense but ultimately uplifting\, poetic rendering of childhood that captures the essence of that time in life when a day can last forever. The friendships\, loyalties\, and challenges of adolescent youth propel the story into a triumph of childhood hope and resilience. \nThe central character\, Billie\, is a 15-year-old girl who fantasizes Billie Holiday as a sort of fairy godmother. Billie has to navigate the evolving challenges of her life while she plays mother to her 11-year-old brother\, Nico. They meet up with another adolescent\, run away from home\, and together roam the area free from their parents’ watchful eye. They discover freedom and enchantment among New Bedford’s boats and railway tracks. They fantasize about a life of luxury when they break into a posh home\, and are able to carry the taste of affluence into their adventures. The film celebrates their ability to make poetry and a joyful life out of hardship. The children come to represent a hope in our own resilience\, as the film is an ode to that trying age when young people prepare to take their first step into adulthood.

But although they lead very different existences\, the brothers have an instinctual connection. \nFollowing their parallel lives in New York and Havana\, Los Hermanos / The Brothers offers an amazingly heartfelt – though often startling – view of estranged nations through the lens of music and family. In capturing their momentous reunion and electrifying first performances together\, the film shows how family bonds can transcend politics. \nFeaturing an electrifying\, genre-bending score composed by Aldo and performed with his brother\, Ilmar\, and with guest appearances by maestro Joshua Bell and the Harlem Quartet.

Whatever they decide\, it will directly or indirectly corrode their inner selves\, their relationships\, and their lives. Says director Mohammad Rasoulof: “as responsible citizens\, do we have a choice when enforcing the inhumane orders of despots? As human beings\, to what extent are we to be held responsible for carrying out those orders? Where does the duality of love and moral responsibility leave us?” Suspenseful\, mysterious\, and shot through with a sense of urgency\, Rasoulof’s film is an incisive look at the moral strength and inner humanity of its protagonists.

She was AXIS SALLY\, and her story has never been told. In 1948\, renowned attorney James J. Laughlin (Oscar-winner AL PACINO) gets assigned a case that will captivate the public: Defend Nazi broadcaster Mildred Gillars (MEADOW WILLIAMS\, 10 Minutes Gone)\, aka “Axis Sally.” In WWII Germany\, Gillars was hired by the Third Reich’s Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels (THOMAS KRETSCHMANN\, The Pianist) to broadcast propaganda to U.S. forces overseas and their families in America. With her love and mentor Max Otto Koischwitz (CARSTEN NORGAARD)\, Gillars kept “the boys” amused — until the Allies won the war and Gillars went on trial. It’s up to Laughlin and his young legal assistant Billy Owen (SWEN TEMMEL) to save her life\, if they can prove that Mildred Gillars and the persona her adopted as Axis Sally — one of the most hated women in America — were not on the same side.

They had the audacious idea to build a studio right there – animals were kicked out of barns and musicians were moved into Nan’s spare bedroom. Bill Traylor was born into slavery in 1853 on a cotton plantation in rural Alabama. Using historical and cultural context\, the film is designed to bring the spirit and mystery of Traylor’s incomparable art to life. After the Civil War\, Traylor continued to farm the land until the late 1920s. Aging and alone\, he moved to Montgomery and worked odd jobs in the thriving segregated black neighborhood. A decade later\, in his late 80s\, Traylor became homeless and started to draw and paint\, both memories from plantation days and scenes of a radically changing urban culture. Traylor devised his own visual language to record the stories of his life\, translating an oral culture into something original\, powerful\, and culturally rooted. He made well over a thousand drawings and paintings between 1939-1942. Traylor witnessed profound social and political change during his life spanning slavery\, Reconstruction\, Jim Crow laws\, and the Great Migration. The transcendent surprise is while Traylor kept to himself leading an unassuming life\, he was nurturing a remarkable creative gift that would not be expressed for decades. Tap dance\, evocative period music and spoken word are used in dramatic and surprising ways in the film\, balanced with archival photographs and footage\, insightful perspectives from Traylor family members\, and Traylor’s striking drawings and paintings\, to reveal one of America’s most prominent artists to a wide audience.

We wander\, dreamlike\, gently guided by our Scheherazade-esque narrator. Inconsequential moments take on the same significance as historical events: a couple floats over a war-torn Cologne; on the way to a birthday party\, a father stops to tie his daughter’s shoelaces in the pouring rain; teenage girls dance outside a cafe; a defeated army marches to a prisoner-of-war camp. Simultaneously an ode and a lament\, About Endlessness presents a kaleidoscope of all that is eternally human\, an infinite story of the vulnerability of existence.

Rediscovered answering machine tape recordings and intimate recollections from Fran Lebowitz\, Gracie Mansion\, Peter Hujar\, and other friends and family help present a stirring portrait of this fiercely political\, unapologetically queer artist.

In intimate interviews\, the leading titans of rock discuss the genre and the special relationship they have with their audience. Featuring members of Metallica\, Guns N’ Roses\, Slipknot\, Korn\, Avenged Sevenfold\, Rob Zombie\, Five Finger Death Punch\, Rage Against the Machine\, Greta Van Fleet\, Halestorm\, and many\, many more. \nThe film also explores the inescapable dark side of their chosen lifestyle\, chronicling the unspoken truths that are unfortunately too commonplace in the rock ‘n roll world for both artists and fans\, such as substance abuse and depression.  \nViewers will get a front row seat of what makes hard rock fans want to crowd surf\, mix it up in the mosh pit or just throw all caution to the wind by participating in the ultimate community mayhem of the “Wall of Death.” We follow some of these passionate fans as they drop everything to “commune” with their “rock family” at music festivals across the U.S. – or wherever the road takes them to celebrate the chaos…that is rock ‘n roll.

It was directly engaged with and inspired by veterans against the war and\, naturally\, it upset U.S. military higher-ups. The F.T.A. tour was highly controversial and was a huge success among stationed soldiers. In spite of positive reviews and business\, director Francine Parker’s film version was quickly taken out of circulation due to political pressures and has been difficult to see for decades.  \nF.T.A. has now been fully restored in 4K by IndieCollect and is preceded by a new video introduction by Academy Award-winning actor and activist Jane Fonda\, which provides historical context and explains the impetus that sparked the creation of the F.T.A. troupe.

As they search for food and shelter\, Zeytin\, Nazar and Kartal embark on inconspicuous journeys through Turkish society that allow us an unvarnished portrait of human life — and their own canine culture. Zeytin\, fiercely independent\, embarks on solitary adventures through the city at night; Nazar\, nurturing and protective\, easily befriends the humans around her; while Kartal\, a shy puppy living on the outskirts of a construction site\, finds refuge with the security guards who care for her. The disparate lives of Zeytin\, Nazar and Kartal intersect when they each form intimate bonds with a group of young Syrians who share the streets with them. Whether they lead us into bustling streets or decrepit ruins\, the gaze of these strays act as windows into the overlooked corners of society: women in loveless marriages\, protesters without arms\, refugees without sanctuary. The film is a critical observation of human civilization through the unfamiliar gaze of dogs and a sensory voyage into new ways of seeing.

Building the network\, though\, requires miles of infrastructure to be laid between huge magnetic cubes by “cablers” – unprotected gig workers who compete against robots to pull wires over rough terrain. \nQueens delivery man Ray Tincelli (Dean Imperial) is skeptical of new technology\, and the buy-in to start cabling is steep\, but he struggles to support himself and his ailing younger brother\, who suffers from a mysterious illness. So when Ray scores a shady permit\, he believes their fortunes may have finally changed. What he doesn’t expect is to be pulled into a conspiracy involving hostile cablers\, corporate greed\, and the mysterious “Lapsis” who may have previously owned his medallion. Called “a smart class-conscious sci-fi parable” by The Hollywood Reporter\, LAPSIS is a darkly comic and timely look at the gig economy and the failed utopian promises of big tech.
